Introduction to Distance
The change in this position can be determined through distance measurements.
This allows us to know how  fast or slow a motion is. The movement of a snail on the ground, a butterfly flitting from flower to flower, a river flowing along on clear rounded pebbles, an aeroplane flying high up in the air making jet trails, moon going around the Earth, blood flowing inside our bodies, there is motion.

Displacement of an Object Moving in two dimensions

Displacement of the object can be calculated in a two dimensional motion as shown in the figure.
Definition
Speed
Speed is rate of change of distance,it is the measurement of how fast or slow objects move, can be given by formula,

S.I unit of speed is
Definition
Uniform Speed
Speed is a measure of how fast an object is moving at a given instant of time. It is a scalar quantity. Its unit is m/s.
For a body covering equal distances in equal time intervals, the speed is called uniform speed
Shortcut
Speed by distance moved and time taken by an object
Example : During inter school running race competition , Shivam completed the race of  200 m in 120 seconds, where as the winner of the race Anubhav completed it in just 80 seconds. What would be the required speed of Shivam to beat  Anubhav?
Solution: Speed of Shivam
Speed of Anubhav
Hence to win the race speed of shivam should have been more than

Odometer

Odometer :Meter that measures the distance moved by the wheeled vehicle is known as an odometer.
Definition
Speedometer

Speedometer: Speedometer is the device used to measure and display the speed of the vehicle. It is fitted in the vehicle near the steering wheel.Speedometer gives the speed in km/h.
Definition
Uniform motion
A body is said to be in uniform motion if its velocity does not change with time. For a body in uniform motion, net external force is always equal to zero. An example of uniform motion is a body sliding on a frictionless surface with a constant velocity.
Definition
Uniform Motion
Uniform Motion : When an object covers equal distance in equal interval of time, the motion is considered as uniform motion.
For example: If a train covers 50 km in 1 hr, in next one hour also it covers 50 km, that means its moving uniformly without changing its speed.
Definition
Non-Uniform Motion
Non-uniform motion: When an object covers unequal distance in equal interval of time, the motion is considered as non- uniform motion.
For example : If a train covers 20 km in 1st hour and 30 km in next hour, 25 km in 3rd hour, that means the speed is changing continuously with time, showing non-uniform motion.
